  • Do you have an established homelessness action team?
  • Do you know:
the Homelessness Officer of your local authority?
the Social Services department of your local authority?
    your other local homelessness agencies?
the operators of your local rough sleeper shelters?
  • Might some of your church congregation make a loan to Green Pastures – on a 5% return?
  • Could you provide pastoral support over the longer term?

Upon receiving an enquiry from an interested party engaged in a homelessness ministry with a Christian ethos ....

  1. Researching and finding an appropriate property.
  2. Checking the accomodation is habitable and doesnt require significant work.
  3. Ensuring the tenants are ready to move into the house and filling 'empties' as soon as possible.
  4. Preparing the property so that it can be lived in (e.g. helping the tenants find furniture etc ...).
  5. Sustainign the tenancy - pastorial care, financial, administration, maintenance.

We generally suggest that a maximum of 2 properties be purchased in the first 6 months. Once these are established, future purchases will be considered. Regional partnership meetings will be organised by Green Pastures where partners can network together.
