Key people
Pastor Peter Cunningham, Director
Pastor Pete, as he is known, was born and grew up in London. Born again at 21 after riotous teenaged living, his early working life was spent in the Share Market. Later, in the ministry, he pastored several churches before taking on a small congregation in Southport in 1993. The church has grown considerably since then.
Pastor Pete has always had a heart for the broken and homeless, feeding them and providing shelter anywhere possible, even in a caravan on the church car park. When a desperate young family came along in 1999, Pastor Pete cashed in his £6,000 pension plan and, he, his son Andrew, and co-director Vicki Woodley, purchased two flats for cash. The rest is history.
Anyone meeting Pete sees his love for humanity shining through - his infectious laugh and bright smile light up those around him. This love for his Saviour, and his taking literally His command to love all men, has yielded an impressive harvest, by any standards. Green Pastures has grown from simply loving and caring for people that society forgets.
Married to Linda Jean since 1969, they have six children and eleven grand children.
Vicki Woodley, Director
Vicki Woodley has been a key player in Green Pastures since 1999. Soon after joining Argyle Church, Southport in 1996, she began working part time for the church, moving to full time and then into a 'life's work'.
In the early days, as well as being Church Administrator and PA to Pastor Pete Cunningham, she was also involved in music in the church - something she still continues today as an elder of Shoreline Church.
In 1999 she put money where her heart was, raised funds by mortgaging her investment property and enabling Green Pastures to put £20,000 towards the purchase of the first properties. Today, as a Director, she works alongside fellow directors Pastor Pete and Andrew Cunningham and has overall responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the business. Without a 'woman's vision', says Pastor Pete, Green Pastures might not have been born at all.
Vicki has spent time as a single parent, has been married twice and has two grown up children.
Andrew Cunningham, Director
Andrew spent his childhood in Bramley, Leeds and went on to train as an Architect’s Assistant with Martin Perry Architects in Southport. He still works part-time for the firm alongside running his own business.
Over the years Andrew has been active in leadership at Argyle Church/Shoreline Church alongside his father: he is a former youth leader, and still an active member of the team responsible for renovating the new church building.
Involved in Green Pastures from the first house purchase in 1999, he has responsibility for purchasing our properties around the country, and their maintenance and safety certification.
Andrew is married to Rebecca and they have a son and a daughter.
