The church and pastoral care

Green Pastures, a company with a strong Christian foundation, is highly successful and growing fast.

Key to its success is the active partnership of growing numbers of churches around the country who empower our work and enable us to help more and more people, many of whom are socially invisible and would otherwise slip through the net.

Christians from all denominations work with us, restoring dignity to the lives of individuals and hard-pressed dysfunctional families.

It is this pastoral support that enables many of our tenants to maintain successful tenancies - making the difference between success and failure. Some of our tenants' stories are very moving.

Pastoral Care Teams assist with:

• Rehabilitation
• Family advice
• Claiming benefits
• Training
• Job creation
• Employment

Tenants are visited regularly, assisted both with their social and spiritual needs, and so helped to get back on their feet. Without this input, it is likely that many would end up back on the streets.

Many of our tenants have dysfunctional lifestyles such as alcoholism and drug abuse, and can be challenging. But we made a commitment from the start to accept everyone regardless of the way they are. There are no behavioural preconditions to taking up a tenancy with us.
